About The Position

Production Castings, Inc. is a family-owned manufacturer specializing in custom zinc and aluminum die cast components. We support a wide range of industries including automotive, industrial, consumer, and defense. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Manual Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating manual machine tools to produce precision parts and components, ensuring high-quality standards and adherence to specifications. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in die making
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, and specifications
  • Experience using hand and power tools to shape, cut, and finish dies
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time

Nice To Haves

  • Proven experience as a Manual Machinist or similar role in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in operating manual lathes, mills, grinders, and other machine tools
  • Strong understanding of technical drawings, blueprints, and measurement tools
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications and work orders
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision in machining tasks
  • Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in machine operation
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machinery issues
  • technical training or certification in machining is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate manual lathes, mills, grinders, and other machine tools to produce metal parts according to technical drawings and specifications
  • Set up and calibrate machines, ensuring proper tooling and safety procedures are followed
  • Measure and inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision instruments to ensure accuracy
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine machining requirements
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on manual machinery to ensure optimal performance
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety standards and protocols
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality control teams to resolve machining issues and improve processes
