About The Position

Overview: The TMS Technician Trainee (TMST-T) is an integral part of the Advanced Treatments Team. Tasked with the responsibility for administering and observing patients during TMS treatment sessions. The TMST-T will handle items that are within their purview and site location, including answering phones, checking patients in/out, and accepting payment for treatment. The hours for this shift are 10:30am to 7:00pm. Main Responsibilities: The TMST-T works as part of the Advanced Treatments department under the direction of the Interventional Treatments Director and Clinic Managers. The primary focus is to ensure that patient concerns or questions regarding TMS treatments are addressed and responded to in a timely and professional manner. Learn and perform standard TMS protocols on patients Engage in shadowing a TMS Tech 1 or TMS Tech 2 for a period of 60 days Ability to complete treatments alone after 180 days Complete Certification Training and Testing Provide follow-up phone calls to patients as needed Return or forward voicemails as appropriate Monitor incoming e-mails for the shared TMS e-mail inbox Knowledge regarding FMLA/Disability forms for completion Know the resources and education material available to patients Complete demographic updates in patient charts Check-in patients for treatment Assist with referral sources Maintain clean and safe environment for patients Attend Quarterly TMS Meetings Other duties as assigned NOTICE: This job description does not imply that these are the only tasks to be performed by the employee occupying this position. Requirements

  • A successful TMST-T will have excellent organizational skills, sound judgement, and basic understanding of the TMS process to aid in making quick and accurate determinations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with patients and their families
  • Display empathy and compassion towards patients and their families
  • Ability speak, read, and write English fluently required
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in the use of a Windows Computer, Adobe and Microsoft office products
  • Demonstrate skill in following detailed instructions
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of patient billing and scheduling
  • Ability to use simple forms of math for calculating change.
  • Ability to learn and understand positioning procedures for TMS
  • Must be able to lift 10 pounds
  • Must be able to adjust the positioning chair to patient comfort
  • Must be able to maneuver the TMS coil (approximately 5 pounds) into proper position
  • Must be able to maintain the coil position throughout the course of treatment
  • Must achieve proficiency in the following programs
  • Electronic Medical Record
  • Insurance eligibility and verification systems
  • Waystar payment system
  • Any other systems used in conjunction with the position
  • Ability to work independently and provide regular reports as needed
  • Must always adhere to HIPAA and HIITECH guidelines

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a(n) healthcare office or facility, a plus!
  • Experience with TMS Treatments not required training provided
  • High School diploma or equivalent required, College degree preferred
