About The Position

Macon R-1 Elementary School is looking for a certified Title Math/Reading Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The Title Math/Reading Teacher provides supplemental instruction in reading and mathematics to students who need additional academic support. Working within the Title program, the teacher delivers targeted interventions, collaborates with classroom teachers, and monitors student progress to help close achievement gaps and support student success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
  • Valid state teaching certification in Elementary Education
  • Knowledge of literacy and mathematics instruction for elementary students
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of digital resources, tools, and instructional applications

Responsibilities

  • Provide small-group and/or individual instruction in reading and mathematics to eligible students.
  • Implement research-based instructional strategies and intervention programs aligned with district curriculum.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the varied learning needs of students.
  • Reinforce foundational literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Assess student skills to identify learning gaps and instructional needs.
  • Monitor and document student progress using formative and summative assessments.
  • Adjust instruction based on assessment data and student performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of student participation and achievement.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to support student learning goals.
  • Participate in data meetings, grade-level planning, and intervention team discussions.
  • Coordinate instructional strategies that align with classroom instruction.
  • Attends established traditional school-sponsored activities (e.g., Back-to-School Night, Open House, programs, activities, and faculty meetings).
  • Communicate student progress and strategies for supporting learning at home.
  • Participate in parent conferences and Title family engagement activities.
  • Provide resources to families to support literacy and math development.
  • Support implementation of the school’s Title program and ensure compliance with federal guidelines.
  • Assist in maintaining documentation related to Title services.
  • Participate in professional development related to literacy, math instruction, and intervention strategies.
  • Prepares lesson plans for use by a substitute teacher.
  • Assumes other duties as assigned.
