About The Position

Tutor Doctor is a locally owned tutoring company that has proudly served families in our community for more than 15 years. We provide personalized, one-to-one tutoring in students’ homes and carefully match tutors with students based on subject expertise, personality, and availability. We are currently hiring an Elementary Tutor for reading, writing, and math support for students in the Bergenfield area. Tutors work one-on-one with students to strengthen foundational academic skills, build confidence, and help students develop positive learning habits. This is a flexible, part-time opportunity ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children and making a meaningful impact in their academic growth. Subjects Elementary Reading & Writing Elementary Math Bonus: Ability to also support middle school subjects as students progress.

Requirements

Experience working with elementary-aged students (tutoring, teaching, education programs, childcare, etc.)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Reliable transportation to travel to students in the Bergenfield area
Patient, engaging, and dependable

Nice To Haves

Certified teachers or substitute teachers
College or graduate students majoring in education or related fields
Retired teachers
Individuals with experience working with children who enjoy helping students succeed
Teaching certification

Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions for elementary students
