About The Position

Located in the Valley of Sun in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona, GCU is a regionally accredited, private, nondenominational Christian University. Do you have a passion and background in investigation? The Academic and Compliance Department is seeking a Title IX Investigator on our ground campus. We are especially interested in applicants who can strengthen the diversity of our academic community and integrate faith. Location: Main Campus, 33rd and Camelback Phoenix, Arizona What you will do: Assist the Deputy Title IX Coordinator with cases relevant to the Title IX and Non-Discrimination Policy, and other equity related grievances. Is assigned cases for investigation Intake, analysis, and documentation of initial complaints regarding discrimination, harassment, or sexual-misconduct. Determine appropriate resolution process for incoming complaints and routes accordingly. Responsible for outreach to potential equity complainants and complaints under and the Title IX and Non-Discrimination Policy, and providing them with resources, process information, and reasonable accommodations as needed. Conduct fact finding, maintaining expected confidentiality and responsiveness. Interview Complainants, Respondents, and relevant witnesses to gather information and evidence. Act as a neutral party through all aspects of the investigation process and ensure equitable treatment of all parties. Compile investigative reports for potential violations of the University policies, including the Title IX and Non-Discrimination Policy. Maintain records for reports, including outreach, response, process and resolution. 8.Collaborate and consult with the Deputy Title IX Coordinator and Title IX Coordinator regularly to monitor and manage incidents pertaining to discrimination or misconduct on the basis of age, disability, national origin, race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, veteran status, or any other classification protected by applicable law. Provide periodic, timely updates regarding the status of complaints received and investigations in progress to the Deputy Title IX Coordinator. In coordination with the Institutional Equity and Compliance team and relevant campus partners, develop and coordinate the distribution of educational materials to the University community regarding reporting of discrimination and harassment based upon a protected category and/or sexual and gender-based harassment and misconduct and the prevention of such behavior. Assist in maintaining requested statistics and data for reporting purposes, specifically use of Title IX, 504 and Diversity database and management systems. Remain knowledgeable of current state and federal law, regulations, and trends in the field of education related to harassment and other discriminatory practices that violate Title IX, Title VI, VAWA, Campus Save Act, Clery Act, ADA, and any new legislation on the subject. Assist in developing and providing education, training, and outreach relating to Institutional Equity and Compliance. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Two (2) years' relevant professional experience.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background investigation.
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

  • Knowledge would include: Title IX and Violence Against Women (VAWA) regulations, knowledge of Higher Education, Student Conduct practices, FERPA, or other related experience.
