Requirements
- Must be a Wonderful Scholar in Sophomore, Junior, or senior year of college.
- Enrolled in accredited graduate or undergraduate degree program with studies focused in Plant Science, Horticulture related field preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-directed and able to work autonomously.
- Energetic and able to tackle new projects and ideas.
- Ability to write and present reports as requested.
- CA Valid Driver’s License.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for collecting WPR shoot tops in the field, preparing shoot tops in the lab for culture, and actual culture.
- Assist in maintaining sterile lab environment with dishwashing, lab cleaning, some insect control.
- Use of basic laboratory equipment (weighing scales, pH meter, stir plate, dispenser, autoclave) to prepare tissue culture media.
- Responsible for job shadowing nearby labs.
- Other duties as assigned.
