About The Position

The Product Development Engineer will work closely with the product management team to develop and industrialize new products as well as maintain and improve existing products. This role is based at the Hoosier location in Plymouth, IN, which is a 100% subsidiary of Continental AG and the largest race tire manufacturer in the world. The facility is dedicated to engineering, designing, supporting, and manufacturing over 1,000 different types of racing and high-performance tires.

Requirements

Must exhibit excellent organizational skills and be detail oriented
Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams
Effective oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills
Self-directed with creative problem-solving ability
Ability to train and coach others from technical expertise
Understanding of advanced analysis tools and methods to solve complex technical problems
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field
Ability to travel up to 15%
CAD software experience (AutoCAD, Inventor, NX, Solidworks)
Familiarity with Matlab, VBA, PowerBI and Tableau
Structured problem solving and risk analysis experience

Responsibilities

Benchmark/analyze competitor tires
Collect static/dynamic data on experimental and competitor tires through test lab
Coordinate track testing and evaluation of products
Investigate new materials/technologies to improve product performance
Work with manufacturing to find ways to reduce costs, complexity, and scrap
Attend race events to interact with customers, collect data, and obtain feedback for further development
