Requirements

  • Technical knowledge of computerized equipment
  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work scheduled shifts and required overtime depending on production demands
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring continuous/repetitive movement, including grasping, pinching hands, flexing, and extending arms
  • Ability to stand on concrete and/or platforms for up to a 12-hour shift
  • Ability to work around animal blood and/or carcass parts
  • Ability to work with a knife (if trained)
  • Ability to work in cold areas (approximately 20-40 degrees) and/or warm areas (over 100 degrees)
  • Ability to work in an environment that is wet and humid
  • Ability to work while wearing a hard hat, hearing/eye protection, and steel-toed safety shoes
  • Ability to work in a noisy environment using personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to work with sanitation/cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to work around strong smells/odors
  • Ability to climb/move on ladders, steps, stairways, walkways and platforms
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and twist repetitively over the course of an entire shift
  • Ability to walk long distances
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work requiring the use of some or all body parts and muscle groups
  • Ability to perform repetitive overhead lifting up to 30 lbs (for some positions)
  • Ability to perform single lifting of heavy objects up to 60 lbs (for some positions)
  • Ability to lift objects using mechanical assistance (for some positions)
  • May require certification to operate various pieces of equipment required for the position
