About The Position

The Timekeeper is responsible for supporting daily timekeeping administration for Delta Utilities. This role focuses on accurate entry and maintenance of employee time records, ensuring timely submission of time data, and providing first-level support to employees and supervisors regarding time entry questions. The Timekeeper works under the guidance of the Payroll Coordinator and Payroll leadership to ensure timekeeping data is complete and ready for payroll processing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 0 to 1 year of related experience in timekeeping, payroll support, or administrative support.
  • Basic understanding of timekeeping practices.
  • Familiarity with payroll or timekeeping systems (e.g., SAP, Workday, PrismHR, ADP, or similar).
  • Ability to follow established procedures and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a structured, deadline-driven environment.
  • Able to operate a personal computer, either desktop or laptop.
  • Able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Able to operate a copy machine, fax machine, calculator, telephone and other miscellaneous office equipment.
  • Able to exert up to 10 Lbs. of force occasionally, and /or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push or otherwise move objects.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor employee time entry on a daily basis to ensure timely submission of hours worked.
  • Enter employee hours, timecard corrections, and pay code adjustments into the timekeeping system accurately and in accordance with established procedures.
  • Review timecards for completeness (missing punches, unapproved time, incomplete entries) and follow up with supervisors for resolution.
  • Maintain accurate records of timekeeping changes and supporting documentation.
  • Assist supervisors and employees with basic timekeeping system navigation and procedural questions.
  • Escalate unresolved discrepancies, policy questions, or complex pay issues to the Payroll Coordinator.
  • Support payroll processing by ensuring timekeeping data is finalized and submitted within established deadlines.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee payroll and timekeeping information.
  • Perform other clerical and administrative duties related to timekeeping as assigned.
