Position Summary: This position supports the administration of the Marathon Petroleum Thrift Plan and other related plans by carrying out day-to-day operational activities and ensuring processes are completed accurately and in accordance with plan provisions, regulations, and applicable laws. The position works closely with internal partners and third-party service providers to support operations, financial reporting, and audit activities. In addition, the role provides data, documentation, and general support to internal and external stakeholders to assist with special projects and ongoing initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, or related field required.
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience or in an area of Total Rewards required.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience using a large-scale HRIS platform (such as Workday) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as subject matter expert for the Thrift Plan.
  • Ensures the Thrift Plan is administered in compliance with applicable plan provisions, regulations and laws.
  • Reconciles Thrift Plan contributions and loan payments to ensure accuracy.
  • Monitors Internal Revenue Service (IRS) contribution limits related to the Thrift Plan and provides related communications to employees.
  • Establishes and maintains working relationships with third party partners including recordkeepers and consultants.
  • Researches and assists with resolution of plan participant inquiries and issues.
  • Collaborates with Accounting to prepare Thrift Plan financial statements and provides documentation to auditors conducting the Thrift Plan audit.
  • Provides data, information, and additional support as needed to internal and external stakeholders to facilitate successful completion of special projects.
