POSITION SUMMARY: To perform billing and collections’ functions to include preparing accounts, verifying insurance, billing, and follow-up billing activities on delinquent accounts to maximize collection of accounts; minimize bad debt; and reduce/maintain the Agency’s accounts receivables at acceptable levels. EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent. Medical terminology required. EXPERIENCE: ICD-9 and CPT coding experience preferred. Knowledge of third-party reimbursement experience to include Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care plans preferred. Computer literacy and knowledge of computer applications required. Prior medical collections expenses. SPECIAL SKILLS: Clerical skills including keyboard skills and computer applications knowledge/skills to include the use of spreadsheets and word-processing. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Ability to pay close attention to details and function competently in stressful situations. Ability to work cooperatively with members of the healthcare delivery team (i.e. , nurses, Rehab staff, etc.) and co-workers. Ability to demonstrate effective interaction and communication (oral and writing) skills. Ability to utilize effective time management to set priorities and perform job related responsibilities. Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule. Job Location Kraft Center Shift Day (United States of America)
