Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED equivalent, or previous experience.
  • Previous extrusion and/or thermoforming experience.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and direct employees.
  • Previous experience as an Inspector Packer/Operator/Floater.
  • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Verbal communication adequate to use a radio and or paging system to contact other co-workers in other areas of the complex.
  • Ability to deal with any personnel situations or problems that may arise.
  • Good attendance.
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds frequently and/or up to 100 pounds with assistance occasionally.
  • Ability to push/pull loads in excess of 75 pounds occasionally.
  • Able to stand/walk for 7 hours of an 8-hour shift.
  • Be able to work extended shifts if needed.
  • Hearing sufficient to recognize and respond to shouted warning alarms and horns on forklifts.
  • Able to occasionally climb ladders safely and without assistance.
  • Able to use both hands for effective manipulation of tools/parts.
  • Able to work overhead or in awkward positions on a frequent basis.
  • Optic vision of 20/40 or better and peripheral vision of 70 degrees or greater and ability to read 10-12 point font at a distance of 12-18 inches.
  • Bending and lifting ability adequate to shovel material.
  • Ability to work in dusty/smoky envrionment on an intermittent basis.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all environmental, health & safety regulations.
  • Lead by example, following all critical safety behavior rules while encouraging other employees to work safely.
  • Oversee special projects.
  • Report to Thermoform Supervisor, Manager or in their absence report to the Thermoform Engineering Manager or Plant Manager on status of production from their shift.
  • Aid Quality Assurance department with problem areas.
  • Help orient new employees.
  • Aid in testing process ability of new and advanced resins.
  • Prioritize machine problems.
  • Complete daily efficiency reports.
  • Perform any other duties established by the Thermoform Supervisor/Manager.
  • Oversee the duties of the production floor.
  • Coordinate activities of the processing floor.
  • Monitor direct labor costs.
  • Ensure new hires receive proper training and training checklist.
  • Ensure all samples are done and documentation is done properly.
  • Check timecards to verify payroll for their shift.
