About The Position

About the Role In this role, you are the off-shift technical processing lead, responsible for safely maximizing quality and throughput across a defined group of machines. You play a critical hands-on role on the floor—supporting production, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring processes remain stable and compliant between shifts. You work closely with shift leadership, PIT leads, and specialists to maintain performance, address challenges in real time, and support continuous improvement. Tier 2 Process Technicians are strongly encouraged to apply, as this position builds on advanced technical skills and provides opportunities for increased ownership, mentorship, and technical leadership.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Previous extrusion and/or thermoforming experience required
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Intrinsically motivated, self-directed, and able to prioritize work effectively
  • Coachable and open to ongoing training and development
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally with assistance
  • Ability to push or pull loads exceeding 75 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 7 hours of an 8-hour shift
  • Flexibility to work extended shifts when needed

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the off-shift technical processing lead, ensuring safe operation while maximizing quality throughput
  • Partner with shift leadership, PIT leads, and PIT specialists to manage daily priorities and meet productivity and quality goals
  • Float between production lines as needed, provide breaks, and operate lines to maximize daily output while following role expectations
  • Maintain and stabilize performance established by previous shifts
  • Troubleshoot processing, quality, and equipment-related issues
  • Improve cavitation, gram weights, and cycle times only when and where instructed
  • Ensure all process Key Process Parameters (KPPs) and process change logs are properly followed and completed
  • Communicate process noncompliance to shift leadership
  • Clearly communicate intentional or necessary deviations from KPPs to shift leadership, PIT teams, and supervisors/managers
  • Verify mold change sign-offs and support final setup and startup activities
  • Communicate machine and process status with lead technicians and Front Line Leaders between shifts
  • Participate in advanced training as requested
  • Accept mentorship from shift supervisors and PIT team members
  • Informally coach and support other employees on production and technical topics as needed
  • Assist with samples, trials, and new mold or machine startups
  • Support the PIT lead in identifying and implementing improvement projects
  • Partner with shift leadership to verify and correct WebEff entries
