About The Position

Analyzes, researches and develops structural engineering specifications involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials for product design, or operation of product to include structures, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronics, power plant, armament, heating and ventilating, equipment and maintenance designs. Analyzes damage tolerance, durability, design allowables and structural modeling. Specific structural engineering specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue and thermal analysis. Tools utilized may include CATIA, IDEAS, ProEngineer and a variety of software applications. Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering (or related field).
  • Pursuing or having a master's degree is highly preferred.
  • Strong practical knowledge in heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics principles, etc. demonstrated through strong academic performance, internships, projects, or other experience.
  • Familiarity with (FEA) Finite Element tools (SimCenter 3D Thermal) and/or (CFD) Computational Fluid Dynamics (FloEFD) tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical issues, demonstrated through hands-on experience.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, demonstrated through successful group / individual projects and collaborations.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain a Department of Defense clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in active thermal control hydraulics and refrigeration as it relates to the Aerospace sector.
  • Demonstrated strength in thermal analysis with a desire to learn more.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills for generating test plans, test reports, documentation, and potentially proposals are necessary.
  • Experience with MIL-STD-810, environmental test plans, and execution.
  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good writing and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Windows/Microsoft Office Suite: Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Active secret clearance.
