About The Position

Parkwood Behavioral Health System (a UHS facility): Parkwood Behavioral Health System provides behavioral health and chemical dependency services to the Mid-South region and has been in business since 1987. We are located in Desoto County, in the northwest corner of Mississippi and approximately 7 miles south of Memphis. Parkwood Behavioral Health System includes a 148-bed inpatient acute and residential care facility, as well as partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs. For more information about Parkwood Behavioral Health System, please visit our website at https://parkwoodbhs.com/ Outpatient Therapist PRN- (As Needed) The Outpatient Therapist will provide social work services in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Parkwood. The Therapist is responsible for psychosocial assessments, individual, group and family therapy, participation in treatment team planning, processing commitments, discharge planning / case management, crisis intervention and liaison services with referral sources and other departments within the facility.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree required in a health or human services field.
  • One (1) year prior psychiatric experience preferred.
  • LMSW, LCSW, LPC or LMFT preferred.
  • CPR Certification required
  • Knowledge of individual, group and family therapy theory and practice, case management, group leadership skills, discharge planning, age specific growth and development and crisis and behavior management.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year prior psychiatric experience preferred.
  • LMSW, LCSW, LPC or LMFT preferred.
