Your career path with us starts here As a Theatre Stage Technician, you will be responsible for assisting in stage operations, performer support, and backstage maintenance to ensure smooth and professional productions. This role involves setting up and maintaining stage equipment, assisting performers with quick changes, monitoring technical aspects such as lighting and sound, and ensuring a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Minimum 21 years old
- Relevant ship experience is preferred
- Good level of English language
- Ship experience is preferred
- Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively with guests, department heads and crewmembers to foresee and resolve problems and negotiate resolutions.
Responsibilities
- Assist with stage and backstage operations during rehearsals and performances.
- Install rigging, lighting, sound equipment and scenery.
- Read stage layout specifications and blueprints and confer with stage production manager/ sound and light manager to determine type and location of sets, props, scenery, lighting and sound equipment required for specific events.
- Support performer flying operations, ensuring safety and proper execution.
- Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks in the theatre to ensure a safe environment.
- Assist with quick changes for performers.
- Monitor and replace microphone batteries as needed.
- Manage set changes, ensuring smooth transitions between scenes.
- Operate follow spots or other stage lighting as required.
- Assemble and disassemble stage equipment, props, and set pieces.
