About The Position

Applicant must possess a High School diploma or equivalent. Applicant must possess excellent customer service skills with two years of office experience. Health Promotions preferred. Ability to type 45 wpm. Excellent grammar, spelling, and verbal, and written communication skills are required. This position is to provide clerical services, maintain incoming program interest, and conduct enrollments in-home and virtually for the Tribal Family Partners Program. Daily duties include but are not limited to answering phones, scheduling in-person and virtual meetings, maintaining inventory of supplies, purchasing supplies, creating flyers, and documenting meeting minutes. A flexible schedule is required. Applicant must possess a valid California Drivers License with a safe driving record, DMV record is required. Must have or willing to obtain current BLS Certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross prior to orientation. This position is funded by a Grant. Must be able to work with the Indian community and be sensitive to the Indian culture and its needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of office work experience.
  • CPR (BLS Provider) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross. Certification may be obtained prior to orientation
  • Type 45 words per minute.
  • Excellent grammar, spelling, and verbal, and written communication skills are required.
  • Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Organization of file systems.
  • Must maintain a safe driving history and good knowledge of traffic laws.
  • Current CPR Certification that meets the guidelines from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (Can be obtained prior to orientation)
  • Valid California Driver’s License with a safe driving record, DMV record required.
  • Must be insurable by the program’s insurance carrier.
  • Learn computer data systems; Microsoft Office, graphics on P.C., and other programs as it benefits the program.
  • Continuously upgrade skills through in-service training and/or continuing education.
  • Meet routine, established deadlines without supervisor’s directive, i.e., filing accomplished on a daily basis.
  • Perform office practice functions with limited supervision of routine tasks.
  • Must be able to work with the Indian Community, and be sensitive to the Indian culture and its needs.
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs.
  • This position requires transporting supplies regularly.

Responsibilities

  • Excellent Customer Service; empathy, active listening, program solving, and communication
  • Conduct program enrollments in-home and virtual.
  • Type letters, reports, manuals, meeting minutes, grants, newsletters, statistical data, etc.
  • Help in purchasing program supplies and ensuring that purchase orders and work orders are submitted to appropriate departments.
  • Maintain filing, referrals, and material inventory on a daily basis for the department as assigned.
  • Answer telephones, transfer calls, take messages and ensure appropriate distribution and referral.
  • Set up meetings for the Director, Department, and Advisory Committee as assigned. In charge of typing minutes, and agendas and purchasing meeting supplies.
  • Complies with dress code and good interpersonal skills with staff and the community.
  • Other duties as assigned.
