About The Position

The Instrument & Electrical Technical Field Advisor III (I&E TFA III) serves as the primary field technical authority for instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems on Mitsubishi Power projects. This role establishes and enforces uncompromising standards for personnel safety, equipment protection, quality execution, and professional conduct across all I&E activities. The position leads complex, high-risk installations and actively mitigates risk to personnel, equipment, schedule, and cost while driving a Zero Injuries mindset, strong site culture, and first-time quality execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or equivalent power plant construction experience.
  • Minimum eight years of progressive I&E field experience on large EPC power generation projects.
  • Extensive experience with Mitsubishi Power or comparable OEM GTCC installations including DCS, EBoP, and field instrumentation.
  • OSHA 10-hour training recommended but not required.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills applied to electrical and control systems.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical documentation, schematics, and control logic.
  • Proficiency with databases, project management tools, spreadsheets, word processing, and technical documentation software.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 80%.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary site-level I&E authority for Mitsubishi Power–supplied instrumentation, electrical, and control systems.
  • Establish and enforce strict standards for electrical safety and equipment protection, intervening immediately when risks are identified.
  • Lead high-risk and complex I&E work planning including energization, loop checks, megger testing, and system turnovers.
  • Drive a Zero Injuries mindset through leadership of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and reinforcement of electrical hazard controls.
  • Influence EPC contractors and partners to meet safety, quality, and contractual obligations.
  • Champion first-time quality execution through installation strategy development, inspection hold points, and readiness verification.
  • Lead resolution of complex I&E technical issues impacting cost, reliability, performance, or warranty exposure.
  • Own and drive high-impact Project Action Requests (PARs), coordinating responsible parties and escalating as required.
  • Support Construction Site Services Managers by identifying emerging I&E risks and recommending corrective actions.
  • Mentor and develop I&E TFA I and II personnel, strengthening technical depth and leadership consistency.
  • Shape a strong site safety and quality culture through visible field leadership and accountability.
  • Maintain a strong field presence to validate work quality and prevent rework.
  • Prepare and distribute daily construction or commissioning support reports.
  • Maintain and update I&E punch lists and lessons learned documentation.
