About The Position

Conducts assessments and operates campus Testing Center to serve the needs of the students, faculty, staff and college offices. Requirements

  • Knowledge of conducting tests.
  • Knowledge of student advising procedures as it relates to ESL, ASSET, and other Testing Center functions.
  • Knowledge of College policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software.
  • Skill in presentation and advising as they related to ESL, ASSET, and other Testing Center functions.
  • Skill in planning and organization.
  • Communications skills both written and orally, and excellent spelling, grammar, and editing skills.
  • Skill in resolving problems and answering questions.
  • Skill in demonstrating cooperative and professional attitude.
  • Ability to communicate in a courteous, professional manner with staff and students.
  • Ability to use personal computers, printers, copier, fax machine, and other office equipment.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to use the telephone.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to do one-step calculations.
  • Ability to work well with minimal supervision in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, patience and understanding.
  • Ability to provide direction and support to staff members.
  • Ability to effectively work and interact with various cultures and ethnicities.
  • Associate’s degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in student services and/or a customer service environment.
  • Must complete required certifications to administer all specialized assessments within 90 days from hire.
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or related work experience considered.
  • Must pass a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Administers various types of assessments including placement assessments, faculty exams program admission certifications, professional certifications and others as necessary.
  • Maintains testing records by inputting data into college computer system.
  • Provides students with test results and follow up steps.
  • Schedules appointments for students.
  • Maintains security of all assessment instruments.
  • Makes referrals to other office staff of College services, as appropriate.
  • Provides prospective students with general information about College programs and services.
  • Ensures Testing Center hours are covered.
  • Maintains necessary tests/supplies for Testing Center.
  • Scripts all procedures in the Testing Center.
  • Authors policies and procedures for Testing Center.
  • Consistently and dependably attends work, activities, and functions as scheduled or assigned
