Testing Team Member
About The Position
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Outdoor Test Specialist to join the Testing Services team in Homestead, FL. This position reports to the Field and Facilities Manager and plays a critical role in servicing specialized weathering tests requiring custom setups, accelerated turnaround times, and precise measurement tracking. Approximately one-third of this role involves working outdoors to take measurements of materials exposed to environmental conditions. The remaining time will focus on documenting findings, maintaining organized records, and reporting data accurately using Excel spreadsheets. This role requires someone comfortable balancing hands-on fieldwork with technical documentation and data reporting.
Requirements
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (approximately 1/3 of the time)
- Solid computer literacy with moderate to advanced Excel skills
- Ability to accurately enter, manage, and report data in spreadsheets
- Experience following technical or international testing standards
- Good color acuity and ability to identify visual material defects
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to pass drug screening and background check
Responsibilities
- Inspect and review customer test requests; align requests with available services
- Consult with clients to clarify test requirements and resolve discrepancies
- Verify outdoor testing requirements against applicable standards
- Mount and expose new test specimens
- Take outdoor measurements (temperature, humidity, radiation, material performance, etc.)
- Accurately record, track, and report data using Excel spreadsheets
- Generate custom report templates and maintain organized documentation
- Monitor and log environmental data (e.g., temperature, relative humidity)
- Maintain outdoor exposure sites, equipment, and structures
- Perform in-house calibrations on weather station equipment
- Maintain radiation logs and service documentation
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support specialty testing projects
- Provide general team support and backfill other departments as workload demands
