About The Position

About this role: Corporate Risk is seeking Testing Specialists to participate in the Military Apprenticeship Program. As a participant in the U.S. Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship Program, you will perform a variety of structured duties, including a combination of on-the-job training, coursework and mentorship, under the supervision of a hiring manager, program manager and a mentor. The Independent Testing and Validation (IT&V) organization is responsible for the development and design of methodologies and standards for review activities across the Enterprise in alignment with the Risk Management Framework, and ensuring effective and appropriate testing, validation, and documentation of review activities for risk programs, risks, and controls according to standards and other applicable policies. In this role, you will: Participate in less complex development and design of methodologies and standards for review activities companywide in alignment with the risk management framework. Ensure effective and appropriate testing, validation, and documentation of review activities for risk programs, risks, and controls according to standards and other applicable policies within Independent Testing. Support and implement less complex initiatives with low to moderate risk and exercise independent judgment to guide risk reporting, escalation, and resolution. Present recommendations for resolving more complex situations and exercise independent judgment while developing expertise in risk management framework and the risk and control environment. Collaborate and consult with colleagues, internal partners and management. Apprentices within the U.S. Department of Labor accredited Apprenticeship program perform a variety of structured duties, including a combination of (however, not limited to) on-the-job training, coursework and mentorship, under the supervision of a hiring manager, program manager and a mentor. Apprenticeships are designed to assist in the professional development of an apprentice, in preparation for the post-apprenticeship role. Program Managers will facilitate an apprentice’s required path for professional development. This ensures an apprentice will have gained the proficiency and obtained the required experience of a fully functioning post-program role.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of work experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
  • Enrollment into Wells Fargo’s DOL Registered Apprentice Program is required.
  • Apprentices are considered full-time employees within the program.
  • As such, Apprentices are expected to not only uphold and adhere to Wells Fargo and the Apprenticeship Program, but also expected to follow Wells Fargo's prescribed policies, procedures, and employee expectations.
  • Ability to work at one of the approved locations in the job posting.
  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule.
  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Proven experience working in a risk, compliance, audit, or governance role.
  • Proven experience quantifying and assessing risks, developing alternative solutions, and translating information into a concise, meaningful summary for multiple audiences.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Demonstrated interest/experience in manipulating data and reporting, data visualization, and/or data analytics.
  • Experience leveraging AI to gain efficiencies, automation, analysis, etc…
  • Ability to identify issues, risk and escalate to the appropriate party.
  • Self-motivated and able to adapt to dynamic work environment with multiple priorities and strict timelines.
  • Proven experience in building partnerships, collaborating, and influencing at senior levels and across lines of business as well as with corporate partners.
