About The Position

The Testing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, ordering materials, providing training, and maintaining confidentiality and test security for federal and state assessment programs, including but not limited to STAAR/STAAR-Alt2. This role ensures data integrity related to district and state testing and accountability systems, trains staff on Texas State Assessment Program procedures, and works with campus staff to identify student needs for appropriate testing accommodations and schedules. The coordinator assists principals and administrators with interpreting and distributing assessment results, reports to the district state assessment coordinator for updates, monitors TELPAS rater training, and coordinates campus-wide PSAT, Aspire, and ACT testing. Additional duties include assisting with Advanced Placement exam administration, tracking End of Course substitutions and credits, and coordinating summer test administrations. This position is supported by grant, federal, or other designated funding sources, and employment is dependent upon the ongoing availability of such funding.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized, accredited college or university
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate
  • A minimum of three (3) years of successful experience as a classroom teacher is required
  • Effective communication skills, written and oral presentation, and strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of Excel, specifically sorting and filtering spreadsheets
  • Effective organizational skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, order materials, provide training, and maintain confidentiality and test security for the federal and state assessment programs such as but not limited to STAAR/STAAR-Alt2).
  • Ensure data integrity as related to district and state testing and accountability systems.
  • Train staff on procedures and guidelines of the Texas State Assessment Program.
  • Work with campus staff to identify students’ needs to maintain an appropriate testing program (i.e., accommodations, schedules, etc.).
  • Assist the principal and other building administrators with the interpretation and distribution of all assessment results.
  • Report to the district state assessment coordinator for training and updates.
  • Monitor training of TELPAS raters and maintain certification records.
  • Coordinate, plan, and train staff for campus-wide PSAT, Aspire, and ACT testing.
  • Assist with Advanced Placement exam administration.
  • Track End of Course substitutions and credits.
  • Coordinate summer test administrations.
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
