If your goals and values align with Honda’s, we want you to join our team to Bring the Future! Job Purpose Provide leadership for the Test team at the Transmission Plant Ohio. Unit Leader is the link to drive applicable department business objectives and oversee the execution of necessary testing at TMPO and TMPG. While providing leadership for the team with emphasis on developing strategies to promote/achieve PUO Quality Division initiatives with an emphasis on supplier change point confirmation; supplier quality issues; Honda mass production issues. Support Department Lead in developing strategies to promote initiatives to achieve Honda Business Plan objectives. Manage day to day unit operations / decisions at the TMP plant locations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Technical Design, etc)
  • 10 or more years of experience in engineering
  • 3 or more years of experience in performance management
  • Authority to approve functional results activities plan / countermeasures for testing.
  • Implement solutions centered around consistency and efficiency improvements
  • Authority to approve ISO documents, final test reports, authorize interviewing/hiring of staff
  • Ability and potential to travel up to 10% of the time (mix of local, domestic, and international)
  • Facilitate or lead meetings with other Honda entities as well as with Research and Development in Japan
  • Average overtime hours are 10 hours per week

Responsibilities

  • Represent department for confirmation and testing strategy for quality concerns and New Model, direction setting and problem solving related to all attributes of the engine and corresponding CBU systems.
  • Technical leadership for Test Unit and final approval for all Test Unit reports.
  • Manage and serve as the point of contact for the North America Testing Lead Site and drive activity for their improvement as well as serve as their resource for support and guidance.
  • Lead and oversee implementation of business plan, themes, and strategies for the Unit
  • Lead and manage unit budget for Investments and Expense and cost recovery efforts
  • Implement change by engaging associates in creating and implementing characteristic improvements
  • Initiate frequent, interactive discussions with CL5 Group Leads to ensure two-way sharing of thoughts and ideas
  • Continually develop self-awareness and leadership capability. Ensure that associates feel seen, heard, and valued as key contributors to Honda’s success.
  • Distinguish performance and build talent for the CL5 through CL3 of the Unit through regular mentoring, performance feedback and development planning. Optimize and leverage department resources to strengthen the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization.
