We’re searching for a Test Triage Analyst I. In this role, you will Perform autonomy system failure and issue root cause analysis across real-world and simulated testing environments, through learned expertise of sub-system and system-wide architecture and performance standards. Critical analysis that consists of deep technical knowledge, hypothesis formation, thorough investigation of autonomy capabilities and modules, hypothesis confirmation or revisions based on additional data. Collaborate with internal and external domain experts to ensure alignment on root cause analysis and severity scoring frameworks. Synthesize data into reports, feedback, and visualizations to create digestible information for a variety of teams. Able to quickly use and provide feedback for a variety of web-based tools required to perform root cause analysis and supporting analytics work across test modalities. Participate in peer-to-peer quality assurance to stay calibrated within the team and to current Aurora standards. Facilitate meetings with both internal and external stakeholders. Present analytical insights related to autonomy capability performance. Creation, maintenance, application, and overall ownership of hierarchical tags. These tags are based on existing and evolving taxonomies that allow teams across the organization to understand common failures, trends, top issues, etc. using a common reference. Keep documentation and training materials up to date so that the team is informed and prepared.

Requirements

  • Superb analytical and problem solving skills, and an ability to verbalize the "why" and "how" of what we are working on
  • Passionate about working with teams and collaborating with partners
  • Ability to understand, communicate, and analyze the technical details of system-level failures and differentiate sub-system level failures of highly complex autonomous software systems, including but not limited to root cause analysis, troubleshooting, escalations, and corrective actions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between operations, safety, product, and technical groups
  • Experience creating, executing, and optimizing processes. Identify workflow bottlenecks and propose potential solutions
  • Planning and organizational abilities that allow for independent prioritization and follow-through
  • Comfortable navigating fast-paced, fluid working environment

Nice To Haves

  • BS or MS in STEM-related field as well as Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, Computer Science, or Engineering
  • 1+ year(s) of experience working with autonomous vehicles or robotics industries with experience in domains similar, but not limited to triage, motion planning, perception, mapping, localization, and testing operations
  • Experience working in test evaluation, root cause analysis, or quality assurance/control domains
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience using various coding, scripting and / or querying languages with relational databases such as JQL, SQL, PostgreSQL, Python, C++, BASH, etc.
  • Experience with simulation software
