This SkillBridge opportunity is with Collins Aerospace To be eligible for a SkillBridge, you must meet the following requirements: Must be on Active-Duty orders in the U.S. Armed Forces Must be eligible to participate per DoD Instruction 1322.29. Must have all TAP and transition requirements completed prior to the start date. Must receive approval from Unit Commander or O4+ in the chain of command. Joining Collins Aerospace isn’t just about finding a job; it’s about embarking on a journey to redefine the future of aerospace. Performs tests to assess conformance with engineering specifications. Sets up testing apparatus and conducts quality assurance/control tests of raw materials, parts, components, finished items, packaging, equipment and systems. Final testing on sub-assemblies or completed units as necessary to ensure proper functioning of electrical, mechanical, and chemical performance. Scope of work may include but is not limited to strength testing, thermal testing, pyrometry and metallurgic testing.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a HS Diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
  • Experience with component-level troubleshooting
  • Experience with schematics or blueprints
  • Experience with using multimeters, oscilloscope, and/or spectrum analyzer

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in Electronics and/or certification in Electronics
  • Experience with component level troubleshooting
  • Experience in aerospace industry
  • Experience with thermal tables, vibrational tables, and test rigs.
  • Experience with electronics repair

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams on technical tasks.
  • Set up, operate, and configure test stands and equipment.
  • Conduct tests, interpret results, and troubleshoot equipment failures.
  • Utilize math skills to take electrical measurements and determine resistors.
  • Diagnose and repair electronic units to the component level.
  • Read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and manuals.
  • Communicate work status effectively to team members and support staff.
  • Perform entry-level troubleshooting, calibration, hardware modifications, and task prioritization.
  • Support projects through problem resolution, documentation, and workflow management.
  • Fabricate tools or hardware from drawings and estimate related costs.
  • Utilize databases for data interpretation and decision-making.
