About The Position

The Test Technician at Jabil, Inc. performs essential testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic assemblies and products to ensure they meet quality and performance specifications before shipment.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in electronics testing, troubleshooting, and repair, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Hands-on experience with common electronic test equipment (e.g., DMMs, oscilloscopes, power supplies).
  • Strong soldering skills (through-hole and surface mount components preferred).
  • Ability to perform basic root cause analysis for electronic failures.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and potentially test automation software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production setting.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Execute standardized test procedures on various electronic components, sub-assemblies, and finished products using specialized test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators, automated test systems).
  • Document test results accurately and completely, identifying and recording any deviations from specifications.
  • Analyze failed units to determine root causes of defects, often utilizing schematics, diagrams, and diagnostic tools.
  • Perform basic to intermediate level repairs on non-conforming products, which may include soldering, component replacement, and software re-flashing.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify and resolve recurring test failures or product design issues.
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment according to established schedules and procedures.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of test processes and documentation.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and quality standards in a manufacturing environment.
  • Provide clear and concise feedback on product performance and test anomalies to supervisors and engineers.
