About The Position

Eaton’s CPDI OPS Operations division is currently seeking a Test Technician l - 1st Shift. At our Raleigh, NC location they engineer, manufacturer, and ship products related to electrical power distribution to 6 different segments. Some of those include Utilities, Institutions, Aerospace, and Residential. With full time employment you are offered Benefits (Medical, Dental, & Vision), 401K percent match plan, and vacation.​ The hourly rate for this position is $25.00 per hour. The core hours are 6am-2:30pm. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. What you’ll do: The Test Technician I will perform testing, troubleshooting and repairs on single phase and three phase medium voltage UPS systems In this function you will: • You will exhibit a strong adherence to quality by continually seeking methods of improvement for all functions of the position. You will ensure that all products and parts adequately meet Eaton’s quality guidelines as they move throughout the production process and perform quality checks as instructed. • You will read electronic schematics to ensure products meet defined specifications • You will report any Non-conformance items by utilizing our Quality Management Guidelines • You will recommend modifications and improvements to enhance the products for quality, reliability, manufacturability and cost effectiveness • You will communicate with Production Associates, Quality Engineering Technician, Manufacturing Engineers and Test Engineers to resolve daily production and warranty issues • You will check maintain equipment to ensure compliance with ISO 9000:2000 standards • You will identify and implement corrective actions for the repair, replacement and calibration of laboratory tools and manufacturing equipment • You will use the principles of 5S+ to ensure a clean and organized work area

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required
  • A minimum of one year of work experience in electronics with testing and troubleshooting skills

  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Candidates must reside within a 50 - mile radius of Raleigh, NC will be considered. Active - Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
  • Basic knowledge of Electronic Test Measurement Devices
  • Manufacturing systems knowledge (KANBAN, JIT, Production scheduling)
  • Knowledge of switchboard and switchgear operations; electrical and electronic devices
  • Demonstrated ability to take and give direction
  • Ability to use good judgment and problem solving skills to make informed decisions
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels
  • Basic computer knowledge of Windows based operating systems and programs
  • Ability to read and understand formal, informal drawings, and/or electronic schematics
  • Ability to completely test and troubleshoot electronic products
  • Ability to work daily and/or weekend overtime, willingness to flex to different areas or local plants as needed
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to distinguish colored wiring
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Repetitive lifting, bending, and squatting is inherent to this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s Degree in electronics from an accredited school
  • Previous experience with DC battery currents
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Office Applications
