About The Position

Eaton’s CPDI OPS Operations division is currently seeking an Assembler l - 1st shift to join our team. At our Raleigh, NC location they engineer, manufacturer, and ship products related to electrical power distribution to 6 different segments. Some of those include Utilities, Institutions, Aerospace, and Residential. The Assembler I role offers a 40-hour paid work week with hours being 6:00am-2:30pm Monday-Friday. With full time employment you are offered Benefits (Medical, Dental, & Vision), 401K percent match plan, and vacation. The hourly rate for this position is $18.50 per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. The Assembler I will build sub-assemblies and assemblies involving complex and repetitive wiring for Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required from an accredited educational institution

  • Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of the mechanical, electrical, and safety procedures of a manufacturing facility.
  • Ability to read and interpret standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to work daily and/or weekend overtime, willingness to flex to different areas or local plants as needed
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to distinguish colored wiring
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Repetitive lifting, bending, and squatting is inherent to this position

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with following standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Previous experience in product assembly, electrical assembly, maintenance, and /or repair
  • Basic Soldering experience
  • Basic computer experience, including email, internet navigation and data entry

Responsibilities

  • You will follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Build sub-assemblies and assemblies using standard operating procedures.
  • You will be responsible for visual inspections of material before and after assembly.
  • You will use various fixtures, gauges, hand tools and power tools to assemble, adjust, or repair product.
  • You will inspect completed assemblies to ensure compliance with Raleigh Plant Quality standards and making necessary adjustments when required in order to meet quality goals.
  • You will adhere environmental, health, safety rules and regulations.
  • You will provide process and safety improvement ideas.
  • You will ensure machines and tools are properly calibrated and perform housekeeping duties as necessary using the principles of 5S+.
