Learn more about our benefits here! The Manufacturing Engineering Run Test Technician is responsible for ongoing support of Testers in the Grand Rapids facility. Including the following activities. Maintain ongoing communication with plants to ensure that tester and product issues are identified, prioritized, and resolved through coordination with the System, Software, IT, and Plant teams. Take on a technical role in resolving issues related to Universal Testers and product, liaising with key cross-functional roles. Work with UT Team for updating tester requirements, design, validation, and verification documentation as part of the resolution process. Support the implementation of upgrades and improvements to existing testers. Communicate with plant and product development team members to ensure tester requirements are properly identified and met. Assist in the development of tester improvements and upgrades by creating design documentation, including system diagrams, schematics, test sequences, and validation and verification plans. Identify and implement improvement opportunities to support plant customers, including process and technical enhancements. Develop knowledge of key HVAC systems and components that need to be tested, including Trane controls, electro-mechanical power components, electrical wiring, transformers, circuit breakers, contactors, overloads, variable frequency drives, solid-state starters, wye-delta starters, compressors, evaporators, condensers, indoor fans, outdoor fans, gas heat, electric heat, and proprietary components. This candidate must have the technical expertise to develop and lead tester design projects, supervise product validation testing, drive to root cause for quality and reliability issues, interpret technical agency standards, and conduct projects in accordance with standard engineering practices. Success in this role will be achieved by developing strong working relationships with the plant personnel and internal engineering organizations.
