The Test Solutions Effectors team within the Hardware Discipline Directorate within Raytheon Engineering, is a multi-discipline organization responsible for developing Production and Engineering test solutions for all Raytheon products. We are hands-on, designers using the latest technology and tools, and integrating state-of-the-art software solutions with the most advanced engineering systems in the world. These test equipment products are in engineering labs, in the field, and in production environments utilized for weapon system products. Test Solutions has job opportunities across all phases of the engineering lifecycle, including demonstrations, early engineering tests, design verification tests, production, and post-production sustainment. The Test Solution Effectors - AUR (All Up Round) Department seeks a Senior Principal Systems Engineer who can drive the interviewing, hiring and onboarding of Test Solutions design engineers of multiple disciplines to support our organizations need to meet a steep ramp up of personnel to meet the demands of our upcoming contracts. This role will require knowledge of engineering processes and principles, earned-value techniques, Test process, Test Equipment definition, design and delivery experience, and the ability to develop technical talent and mentor future leaders. This role will be a hybrid role between working onsite in Tucson, traveling for hiring and interview events and working remotely.

Requirements

  • Experience leading efforts as an IPTL, sub-IPTL, CAM, REA or project team lead.
  • Experience in a technical leadership role, working collaboratively and effectively with technical and IPT Leads.
  • Experience developing TE for production and engineering test environments
  • Experience utilizing the Test Solutions One Page Process.
  • Typically requires Bachelor’s degree and Ten (10) years of prior relevant experience OR an Advanced degree and Seven (7) years of relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with career development and personal skills development of team members
  • Previous work experience developing artifacts within the electrical, software, mechanical, systems or Configurable logic engineering disciplines.
  • Experience working in Agile development process
  • Experience working with Program configuration management principles and tools such as an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), PMX tools, or tracking books
  • Past engineering experience working in a matrix organization comprised of multidiscipline design teams across multiple projects with rigorous design disciplines
  • Experience with EVMS (Earned Value Management System or similar budget tracking system)
  • Knowledge of the Performance Development Process.
  • Knowledge of the whole lifecycle process from requirements development to maintenance and sustainment.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Test Solutions Hiring team to support the candidate selection, interview and onboarding process
  • Participate in both In-person and virtual interview panels
  • Involvement in center hiring and staffing initiatives.
  • Interact with Functional Directorate Leaders to drive results to achieve program and business staffing objectives.
