Requirements

  • Demonstrates technical competence and direct supervisory/lead experience in a related field.
  • Typically, 3+ years of proficiency in the duties and responsibilities of the role, as demonstrated through relevant skills or practical experience.
  • Direct Supervisor/Lead experience with demonstrated people management skills and abilities.
  • Technical experience in the duties and responsibilities of the position.
  • Demonstrated competency regarding risks associated with high power systems.
  • Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic components and equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Experience with Office suite software.
  • As a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a US Person under ITAR to be eligible.
  • An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment background screen and drug test which includes screening for the use of cannabis.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing Operations: Monitor daily activities, ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively, and manage workflow to achieve operational goals within their area of responsibility.
  • Staff Management: Recruit, hire, direct and supervise staff, delegate tasks appropriately, manage work schedules, and ensure a fair distribution of work while maintaining staff well-being.
  • Performance Evaluation: Conduct regular performance reviews, provide ongoing coaching and feedback, and address performance issues to maintain and improve team productivity.
  • Training and Development: Identify training needs, provide on-the-job training, and support the professional development of team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Enforcing Policies: Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures, maintain discipline within the team, and handle any disciplinary actions in accordance with organizational guidelines.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvements, continuous improvement efforts and employ lean methodologies to reduce waste and optimize profitability and efficiency to help meet demand and customer requirements for order processing, mistake-proofing, and metrics.
  • Lead Through Example: Role-model behaviors consistent in support of AES' Core Values (Passion, Teamwork, Innovation, Humility, Life and Leadership).
  • Lead test resources staff to ensure equipment fabrication and repairs meet quality standards and company objectives; develop standard work and procedures as needed.
  • Oversee equipment repairs, prioritize workflows, and ensure quality, minimal downtime, and proper allocation of resources.
  • Assign tests, compile performance and technical data, and recommend improvements to testing equipment, procedures, or manufacturing processes.
  • Act as a technical resource for Production and CRR Test Technicians, ensuring equipment and test support to meet production goals.
  • Assist with budget planning and procurement of new equipment and materials to support facility and production needs.
  • Provide oversight for calibration and maintenance processes, offering guidance and enforcing policies.
  • Monitor inventory and procure repair parts and supplies while managing costs effectively.
