About The Position

General Statement of Duties: The test proctor is expected to provide support to the instructor during the administrations of any computer and paper based exams.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic computer literacy skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Windows, Internet)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Adhere to security and confidentiality policies and procedures
  • Ability to interact effectively and courteously with test takers, faculty, and other staff

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree
  • Bilingual (English-Spanish)
  • Experience working with adult learner population.

Responsibilities

  • Check students in for testing
  • Check testers' identification prior to administering each test
  • Ensure only authorized materials are at test station
  • Closely monitor the test session for disruptive behavior, cheating or testing irregularities
  • Maintain test environment per test guidelines and student's test accommodation paperwork from Disability Services
  • Arrange testers in test room to ensure proper test environment based upon test guidelines and test accommodations
  • Inform all examinees that they must refrain from using their personal cell phones or other unauthorized devices during testing
  • Direct test takers to their specific seats
  • Distribute and collect test materials to and from each test taker individually
  • Review the room frequently to guard against improper conduct and to ensure that every test taker has sufficient materials to continue testing (scrap paper, etc.); that no test materials are removed or concealed (e.g., writing on the calculator) upon exit of test room.
