We are a community of engineers looking for a dependable engineer to join our tight-knit group. The Mechanical Controls group is an organization within FBM that is responsible for the design and production support of the systems that control the missile both before and after boost. This position is for an Engineer in the Post Boost Control System (PBCS) IPT that both collaborates well in a team environment and has excellent communication skills. In this role, you will have numerous opportunities to represent the PBCS IPT with our Navy partner, LM leadership, and suppliers, with many opportunities for career development along the way. The PBCS IPT is responsible for the development, manufacture, and management of the PBCS which is an attitude control and propulsive subsystem controlling the missile in a phase of the flight. This individual will be the central liaison between technical SMEs/CPE’s, analysis teams, test execution teams, and the overall test support infrastructure. The role will create comprehensive test planning documentation, translate hardware requirements into clear test objectives, and drive the coordination of test hardware, software, and resources. You will work closely with system engineers, test technicians, software developers, and external vendors to ensure that test activities are planned, resourced, and executed efficiently and accurately. Your roles and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: Develop Test Plans & Documentation Test plan development; Lead the development and execution of comprehensive test plans, including test strategy, test design, and test scripts Test Information sheet creation to define: test location and facility, schedule, requirements and objectives, hardware (including major support equipment, Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE), and UGSE), software, configuration, success criteria, “test-like-you-fly” exceptions, and personnel. Collaborate with CPE’s/RSE’s to interpret hardware requirements and convert them into measurable test requirement sand acceptance criteria Collaborate with stakeholders to understand test requirements and ensure that test activities meet their needs Maintain traceability form hardware specifications Test objectives Test cases results Coordinate Test Resources Act as primary liaison between component teams, test execution teams, and suppliers to secure required hardware, fixtures, and software required for test execution Track and schedule test activities ensuring readiness Execute Test Support Oversee setup, configuration, and validation. Ensure compliance with safety, qualification, and configuration control standards. Drive execution and help resolve road blocks.
