Job Summary: Test Operator VIAVI Solutions’ Test Operator is responsible for loading products onto precision test fixtures, loading fixtures into exact orientations in test chambers, securing electrical connections from products to electronic acquisition systems and controlling test execution through custom computer applications. They are also a proponent for positive change and continuous improvement within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Performs variety of electronic and electromechanical tests on electronic systems, subassemblies, and parts to ensure unit functions according to specifications or to determine cause of unit failure, using electronic test instruments
  • Reads test schedule, work orders, test manuals, performance specifications, wiring diagrams, and schematics to determine testing procedure and equipment to be used.
  • Operate custom thermal dynamic test equipment.
  • Operate computer-based test systems.
  • Be a champion of positive attitude and leading the team in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Aide in test scheduling and planning as requested.
  • Provide reporting on test status and complications.
  • Support the reporting of test results.
  • Supporting the development of new test methods
  • Supporting the maintenance and improvement of test facilities
  • Confers with engineers, technicians, production personnel, and others regarding testing procedures and results and to resolve problems.
