Overview The Test Equipment Technician will be responsible for technical support tasks in the areas of equipment installation, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting. The Test Equipment Technician, as part of an integrated product development team will provide mechanical and electrical fabrication and installation support for test equipment and test articles. This position requires the ability to understand test and equipment procedures in support of the engineering team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Currently enrolled in or graduated from college, trade school, or skilled trades program/certificate, or equivalent experience in automation or test and measurement equipment
  • Hands-on industrial/technical/laboratory work or hobbyist experience
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in industrial automation or test equipment installation and maintenance

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Mechanical and electrical assembly, fabrication and hands-on skills
  • Experience with sensors, data acquisition and instrumentation
  • Strong attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Work with test engineers to commission new equipment, troubleshoot and diagnose issues with existing equipment, build and/or fabricate fixtures, wiring harnesses, or other test specific interfaces.
  • Maintain and improve test lab facility cleanliness and organization in conjunction with the test engineering team
  • Maintain and practice lock out tag out procedures in conjunction with the health and safety team
  • Maintain standard work instructions for equipment operation and maintenance as required
  • Support the maintenance and improvement of test equipment and facilities
  • Support the test engineering team in the safe handling of battery packs and cells in conjunction with the health and safety team.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and operate in a safe manner
  • Physical presence on the job is essential and necessary
  • Other duties as assigned by management
