About The Position

The Electrical Test Engineer (Test Development Engineer) designs and develops software, hardware, and custom test solutions to validate electrical and electronic products in compliance with customer and industry standards. This role supports the complete test development lifecycle—from defining test strategies through validation and production release—while adhering to the Quality Management System (QMS). The engineer collaborates cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement, ensure product quality, and support new product introduction (NPI) and manufacturing operations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience developing Functional Test Equipment for electronic products.
  • Strong knowledge of digital, analog, power, and high-voltage circuits.
  • Proficiency in C#-based programming, Visual Studio, VB/VC#, and LabVIEW.
  • Experience with SPEA Leonardo, SPEA ICT, and Flying Probe test platforms.
  • Strong understanding of test process plans, DFT, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
  • Experience delivering complete test solutions including fixture design, validation, and production release.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols; RF product experience is a plus.
  • Ability to manage, maintain, and improve test equipment systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience with communication protocols such as CAN, SPI, Modbus, TCP/IP, RS485, RS232, I2C, and RF-based systems.
  • Working knowledge of RF systems and electronic instrumentation.
  • Strong background in electrical circuit analysis and measurement equipment.
  • Experience writing test procedures and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Define Design for Test (DFT) requirements and collaborate with engineering teams during new product design.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain In-Circuit Test (ICT) and Functional Test programs aligned with product specifications and quality standards.
  • Design and support PCBA functional hardware testing and structural in-circuit testing using platforms such as SPEA, Teradyne, or Agilent.
  • Develop software architectures using LabVIEW, Visual Basic, Visual .NET, and C#.
  • Generate test strategies, specifications, programs, and technical documentation.
  • Provide cost estimates and quotations for ICT and functional test fixtures, programming, and test equipment development.
  • Perform CPK and GR&R studies and ensure all improvement actions are completed and effective.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) through cross-functional collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers.
  • Provide hands-on support for prototype builds and manufacturing ramp-up.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing and quality issues to improve yield and efficiency.
  • Train production test personnel on test procedures, equipment operation, and maintenance.
  • Oversee verification, validation, release, and ongoing maintenance of test equipment.
