About The Position

CX2 is a next-generation defense technology company founded to deliver spectrum dominance for the United States and our allies. CX2’s AI-enabled hardware and software platforms detect, disrupt and defend the electromagnetic spectrum across land, air, sea and space domains. We are seeking a hands-on Test Engineer to develop, execute, and support testing for hardware products in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for validating product performance, reliability, and compliance through the design of test procedures, fixtures, and automated test systems, supporting both new product introduction (NPI) and high-volume production. This will be based at our HQ location in El Segundo, CA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
  • Experience in hardware testing, manufacturing engineering, or production support
  • Strong understanding of electronic or mechanical systems (depending on product)
  • Experience with test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, environmental chambers)
  • Advanced proficiency in Python
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and specifications
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware issues in a production environment
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Ability to work some nights and weekends to meet mission-critical deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing automated test systems
  • Experience with CAD (SolidWorks or Fusion360)
  • Experience with test fixture design and validation
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and quality systems (ISO 9001, IPC, Six Sigma)
  • Experience with regulatory compliance testing
  • Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing or contract manufacturers
  • Hands-on experience with root cause analysis tools (FMEA, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute hardware test plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria
  • Write and debug test automation scripts in Python
  • Design, build, and maintain test fixtures and test equipment
  • Support production testing and troubleshoot test failures on the manufacturing line
  • Analyze test data to identify trends, root causes, and corrective actions
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams during NPI
  • Validate product performance, reliability, and environmental requirements
  • Ensure test coverage meets regulatory and customer requirements
  • Improve test efficiency, yield, and throughput in manufacturing
  • Document test results, procedures, and engineering changes
  • Support failure analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
