Job Summary Battelle has been providing research, development, test and evaluation services in support of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives defense for over 60 years. As part of our mission support, Battelle is working with the Capability Program Executive (CPE) Joint Project Lead (JPL) for CBRN integration. Our support will facilitate the advancement of the enterprise information management system to support nexgen CBRN threat warning and reporting, hazard prediction, and decision support capabilities for the collection, analysis, and dissemination of CBRN defense information. We are looking for a Test Engineer to perform the following activities in conjunction with this mission space. With general direction, carries out procedures to conduct automated and manual tests to ensure, products and services meet organizational standards and end-user requirements using different test processes. Tests complex production software ensures quality through the use of automated and manual system tests. May lead moderately complex programs. Will apply principles of engineering for specialized product, system, or software testing. Creates test plans, procedures, scripts, templates, and tools to support the generation and collection of data. Will execute test procedures and analyze standards of measurements, evaluate results of system/integration/regression testing, and generate reports and technical briefs. Responsible for determining the best technically sound methods to ensure data accuracy, repeatability and defensibility. Prepares test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, and completes specifications and procedures for new test tools and software. May plan the schedules, resources, and equipment required for testing.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in related field with 5 years of experience or master’s degree in related field with 2 years of experience or PhD; or an equivalent combination of education and or experience in a related field.
Must have a DoD Secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

The individual shall have over 20 years of experience in CBRN software training and fielding.
They must lead training coordination, fielding activities, and help desk support.
Responsibilities include developing and updating training materials, managing user accounts, and providing technical support during exercises.
The individual must contribute to curriculum development and ensure compliance with DoD standards.

Responsibilities

Works to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests for products, systems, components, or modifications.
Identifies functional problems and suggests resolutions.
Defines internal quality control standards and the maintenance of reliability programs.
Documents and analyzes test cases and provides feedback and recommendations for product or design changes.
Ensures testing procedures are in compliance with any required industry specific standards.
Contributes to the development of improvements to overall testing and quality programs for improved results.
May coordinate with vendors or suppliers to modify or develop testing for components or other parts.
Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.
Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.
Conducts small technical projects or phases of technical projects.
May provide technical direction to and coordinate the efforts of engineers and technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects within time and budget constraints
Assists with proposal efforts as needed.
Builds relationships with internal and external clients and presents research results.
Communicates with client with regards to the schedule and quality of deliverables.
Supports business development efforts led by others and secures follow-on work.
May assists with the coordination of and participation in Battelle- sponsored conferences.
May participate in scientific conferences and peer review panels and works to increase company visibility through publications.
Oversees, mentors, and trains lower-level staff.
