The Test Engineer II is responsible for independently and collaboratively developing new, and modify existing, test plan and reports and processing systems/portfolios for the execution of complex test projects and validation efforts. Primary responsibilities of this individual include the oversight and operation of vibration/shock testing systems and ancillary supporting equipment. Additionally, this individual supports the Research & Development department in developing test procedures and best practices. The Test Engineer II is a mid-level position that draws on prior test engineering experience. This individual works actively with other Research & Development teams to conduct exploratory and qualification testing, as well as participate in and lead active HASS (Highly Accelerated Stress Screening) and HALT (Highly Accelerated Life Testing) Production-Level Vibratory testing for SIG SAUER’s product portfolio. This is inclusive of shock, sine, and random vibration using an electrodynamic shaker system, as well as rough handling testing procedures with transportation simulators. The Test Engineer II collaborates cross-functionally with other engineering concentrations within Test Engineering as needed.
