About The Position
The Global Operations Group connects information systems, facilities, supply chain, logistics, and high‑volume manufacturing to drive Lam’s operational engine. As part of this mission, Test Engineering provides the technical rigor that verifies product functionality, ensures reliability, and safeguards quality throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. By optimizing test processes and enabling fast, data‑driven validation, we help Lam bring industry‑leading solutions to market efficiently while supporting sustainable and profitable growth. The candidate will be responsible for transitioning test on new products from Pilot to Manufacturing, resolving any manufacturing floor test issue(s), improving product quality, and reducing the test cycle time. As a Test Engineer at Lam, you'll design and implement efficient testing methods for product development and manufacturing, improving quality and reducing cycle time. You'll perform diagnostic tests, design test features and equipment, and create detailed specifications for new products. Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or Master’s degree with 3+ years’ experience; or equivalent experience
- Experienced with Python coding language for automating test scripts, tracking metrics and interfacing with third party devices
- Skilled troubleshooting capabilities in the areas of electro/mechanical assemblies
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes
- Proficient in Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) with approach to structured problem-solving and decision-making
- Experience in Engineering Change Management Process
- Understanding of test FPY processes\procedures
Nice To Haves
- Works cross functionally with design engineering and the pilot group for new product development
- Ensures PDR / NCI / CO / NCE deliverables are in place including test fixtures, test procedures, test specifications, and control charts
- Conducts validation on all new test software and fixtures
- Has a working knowledge of SAP functions for manufacturing
- Defines, designs, documents, builds, calibrates, troubleshoots, and supports all manufacturing test fixtures
- Software skills to create / modify manufacturing’s test scripts
- Improves product quality through test first pass yield and trend data. Analyzes factory non conformances and field escalations for root cause and corrective action
- Resolves test issues cross functionally with Suppliers, Supplier Engineering, Pilot Manufacturing, and Design Engineering
- Presentation skills to present test fixture designs, test processes or spec changes at engineering design reviews
- Defines and implements metrics to lead test process improvements
- Technical writing skills to communicate and document designs and procedures
- Verbal communication skills to discuss technical issues with Suppliers, Supplier Engineering, Pilot Manufacturing, and Design Engineering
- Ability to accomplish assigned tasks with minimal technical guidance
