About The Position

This role drives territory growth for Hunter/Xci by independently prospecting, developing, and closing business while expanding existing accounts. The representative builds product awareness through presentations to contractors, building owners, architects, and consultants; conducts roof/site visits; participates in trade shows; and provides field evaluations to inform proposals. They manage pipeline and forecasting in CRM, coordinate with technical and customer service teams, and report market intelligence. Candidates typically have relevant field sales experience in building materials, strong communication and presentation skills, and can travel regionally with regular rooftop work. Candidates must be based in the Washington, DC / Baltimore area. The role is expected to be performed Monday through Friday, typically between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., although occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Travel is an essential component of this position, with an estimated 60% of the time spent on the road, involving occasional overnight stays.

  • A minimum of two to five years of experience in sales/marketing in the building products industry, construction, manufacturing, or sales.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education approved by Senior Management
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory driving record in accordance with company policy.

Responsibilities

  • In partnership with the regional manager, develop an annual Territory Development Plan that includes market opportunity and a strategy to increase sales and market share.
  • Establish, grow, and maintain relationships with construction professionals (distributors, roofers, consultants, architects, OEMs, and independent reps) to promote and demonstrate new product information and to review project specifications and drawings to assure appropriate product selection and use.
  • Deliver hands-on, classroom, lunch and learn, and field-based educational presentations to construction professionals.
  • Regularly analyze current channel partners and create plans to grow market share, either within an existing dealer base, or determine other and better ways to go to market.
  • Collaborate with other Company personnel as required to provide technical assistance, training, project-start-up, dealer assistance, contractor assistance, problem resolution.
  • Set short-term and long-term strategic business goals and new program/product development goals.
  • Join and actively participate in appropriate professional associations, business development events, and promotional/trade show activities.
  • Routinely provides management with written correspondence and reports (daily, monthly, and weekly) to cover all aspects of the region that impact sales.
  • Work collaboratively with the entire sales team to ensure sales opportunities are effectively executed utilizing Salesforce.
  • Create and maintain a project pipeline in Salesforce.com.
  • Knowledge and understanding of sales and marketing principles and techniques, including utilizing Salesforce for daily pipeline management.
  • Knowledge of sources and methods of obtaining information regarding sales activity in specified area. Proficiency in Salesforce.com
  • Candidate must be able to speak in front of contractors, owners, and specifiers.

  • Evaluate effectiveness of sales strategies and programs, modifying as required to achieve goals.
  • Identify and report market intelligence on product, program, shipping, and market segments.
  • Territory manager must live in the Baltimore/Washington DC territory.
