About The Position

Territory Sales Manager – Safety Products, PPE & Industrial Equipment Location Territory- St. Louis, MO with 25% regional travel required IronRoad is conducting a confidential search for our client that is a manufacturer's representative firm serving the construction and industrial markets with a strong portfolio of safety products, personal protective equipment, and industrial equipment. Our client partners with end users and the distributors that support them to deliver practical solutions, trusted service, and product expertise across a wide range of jobsite and facility applications. We are looking for someone with a great vibe, looked upon as a trusted advisor and provides white glove customer service Position Summary The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for supporting existing business relationships while identifying and developing growth opportunities within an assigned territory which would be St. Louis, MO where the Territory Sales Manager will reside and work. This role involves representing multiple manufacturers' product lines across safety products, personal protective equipment, industrial equipment, and related solutions for construction and industrial end users. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across all levels of an organization, from business owners, executives, safety leaders, and purchasing teams to supervisors and field personnel. Success in this role requires strong relationship management, a consultative sales approach, and the ability to provide product knowledge, field support, and practical solutions aligned with customer needs. This position also includes a hands-on field component and is more physically active than a traditional manufacturer's representative role.

Requirements

  • Proven outside sales experience in construction, industrial, safety, or related markets
  • Experience supporting both existing accounts and new business development
  • Ability to sell technical and application-based products to a broad range of customers
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Comfortable working in industrial facilities, active jobsites, and office environments
  • Capable of a hands-on, physically active role that includes driving, equipment transport, setup, and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing a territory independently
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Must be eligible to meet customer site access requirements, including background screening and access to military facilities when required
  • Willingness to travel throughout the assigned region

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working for a manufacturer's representative, distributor, or supplier serving construction and industrial markets
  • Background in safety products, PPE, industrial equipment, tools, fall protection, confined space, or related product categories
  • Knowledge of OSHA and ANSI standards relevant to worker safety and jobsite applications
  • Experience working with distribution partners and channel sales

Responsibilities

  • Support and grow existing business within an assigned territory
  • Identify and develop new opportunities for revenue growth with end users and distribution partners
  • Represent multiple manufacturers' product lines, including safety products, PPE, industrial equipment, and related solutions
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with end users in construction and industrial markets, as well as the distributors that support them
  • Call on business owners, executives, safety professionals, engineers, purchasing teams, supervisors, and field personnel
  • Conduct jobsite visits, product demonstrations, training, and customer support activities
  • Provide practical, technically sound product recommendations based on customer applications and jobsite needs
  • Transport, set up, and demonstrate equipment in the field
  • Safely lift and handle equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Operate a company-provided 3/4-ton truck equipped for fall protection training, demonstrations, and field support activities
  • Work collaboratively with manufacturer partners, internal support resources, and channel partners to drive sales success
  • Maintain CRM activity, sales pipeline visibility, forecasting, and territory reporting
  • Stay current on relevant OSHA regulations, ANSI standards, and industry best practices
  • Attend customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events as needed
