Requirements

  • 2–3 years of B2B sales experience (Waste industry experience is a plus!).
  • A valid state driver’s license and the ability to travel your assigned territory daily.
  • Comfortable in an industrial environment, with the ability to lift up to 25 lbs and work in various weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Promote, sell, increase and preserve GFL Environmental’s solid waste services to businesses and industrial establishments in assigned territory by identifying new market areas, maintaining current customers, and developing strategies to outweigh competition.
  • Prepare sales contracts with knowledge of pricing, costs and equipment with input from Facility / General Manager.
  • Proactively identify and secure new business partnerships within your territory through aggressive prospecting and cold-calling.
  • Use the WISHES database to manage sales leads, track activity, and stay ahead of the competition.
  • Prepare professional presentations for major industrial and municipal accounts, specializing in everything from roll-offs to complex compaction systems.
  • Act as the GFL liaison at civic functions and business meetings, securing municipal contracts and preliminary bid invitations.
  • Develop a working knowledge of branch profit and loss, including pricing services and calculating desired margins for maximum profitability.
