About The Position

The Terminal Supervisor is responsible for all operations from shift to shift, weekends, and holidays when on duty. They are responsible for all direct communication with terminal operators and their productivity and must minimize negative impacts to the environment in all areas of operation. Responsibilities also include identifying and recording non-conformances, incidents, and near misses and the ability to initiate, provide, implement, and verify solutions. They must show continuous improvement in all areas pertaining to the job which include quality, health, safety, security, and environmental. In addition, they must assist in incident investigations and the resulting action items, conduct operation’s training as needed and actively participate in project management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in terminal storage operations
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credentials) for access to IMTT’s terminal locations.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
  • Ability to understand and communicate in written and verbal communication in the English language.
  • Ability to make decisions in a variable environment.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions).
  • Computer literacy – Access, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
  • Ability to work in inclement weather
  • Ability to see (20/20) with no color vision deficiencies and hear either naturally or using corrective lenses or hearing aids
  • The ability to wear a respirator as certified through a medical examination by a licensed physician
  • Ability to vertically lift eighty (80) pounds, drag hoses or bend over and squat numerous times a day
  • Ascend and descend vertically to a height of forty (40) feet carrying various tools
  • Ascend and descend a gradual climb to a height of sixty (60) feet carrying various tools
  • Ability to stand or walk for extensive periods of time
  • Ability to perform job duties at heights more than six (6) feet
  • Ability to use hand tools and be able to exert a reasonable push/pull force
  • Ability to wear a respirator as certified through a medical examination by a licensed physician

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the daily activities of the terminal's operations.
  • Coordinate barge and rail car movements, discharge, and loading and the manpower to load and unload tank trucks.
  • Provide instruction and documentation on blends, pipeline transfers and inventory gauges for Customer Service.
  • Manage overtime required to cover daily and weekend work.
  • Ensure that all terminal operations are conducted safely and that all terminal employees obey all terminal and facility safety rules and regulations.
  • Control of all flush drums, retain samples and storage required to maintain compliance within terminal regulations.
  • Communicate all operational incidents to the Terminal Operations Manager.
  • Ensure that all operations are conducted in a clean and efficient manner.
  • Ensure that customer’s product is maintained at the proper temperature.
  • Ensure all paperwork pertaining to product movement, blends, transfers, and steam reports are properly completed and the terminal’s inventory system is updated accordingly.
  • With assistance from the Quality Department, initiate, review, and update appropriate quality system documentation.
  • Conduct a daily audit of the shift’s movement paperwork and provide counseling to terminal operators to ensure accuracy.
