About The Position

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Auburn terminal, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective transportation services. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence through clear procedures, effective personnel management, and seamless coordination of equipment and freight. The Operations Manager serves as a key leader in coordinating resources, meeting customer expectations, and supporting the company’s growth and profitability.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of operations management experience in trucking, logistics, or transportation.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, safety compliance, and trucking operations.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse workforce.
  • Excellent time management, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS), routing software, and MS Office Suite.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and develop dispatchers, drivers, dock staff, and other operational personnel.
  • Develop and implement SOPs and protocols to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Manage day-to-day trucking operations including dispatch and pickup & delivery.
  • Monitor schedules, routes, and performance to ensure on-time and cost-efficient service.
  • Oversee load planning and equipment utilization to maximize efficiency.
  • Manage timecard review, attendance tracking, performance management, and other personnel related tasks.
  • Monitor driver safety and behavior using available technology and take corrective action as needed
  • Relay operational issues to IT for timely resolution and system improvements.
  • Serve as Hazmat liaison, ensuring proper handling and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with FMCSR, DOT, OSHA, and Hazmat regulations.
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and technological advancements to improve processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
