The University of North Alabama invites applications for a tenure-track open rank position in the department of Counselor Education to teach master's level core counseling courses in both the clinical mental health counseling and school counseling programs. Application review will begin immediately and continue until the position has been filled, with appointment to begin as early as January 2026. Sponsorship is not available for this position.Possible courses include practicum, social and cultural foundations, contemporary practices in clinical mental health counseling, diagnosis and treatment planning, crisis intervention, family counseling, career counseling, advanced applications in CMHC, and group counseling. Courses are offered weekdays during the late afternoon and evening, primarily in a traditional format, and summer teaching is typically available. Additional responsibilities include: supervising, advising, mentoring, and recruiting students; participation in the enhancement of university and community relationships; assisting with curriculum development and accreditation planning; engaging in scholarly activities; and serving on departmental, college, and university committees.
