About The Position

RIT's Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering invites applications from highly motivated individuals looking to join a diverse, vibrant community of teacher-scholars as a tenure-track faculty member at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor. Successful candidates are expected to build a strong externally sponsored research program, advise Ph.D. and master's students, develop and teach undergraduate and graduate classes, advise undergraduate researchers and design teams, and work collaboratively to advance the goals of the department. We are currently seeking candidates with research and teaching expertise in the area of Smart Manufacturing Systems including robotics, automation, augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR), and Industry 4.0/5.0 technologies. We are seeking an individual who has the ability and interest in contributing to a community committed to student-centeredness; professional development and scholarship; integrity and ethics; innovation and flexibility; and teamwork and collaboration. Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering or closely related field
  • Research and teaching expertise in the area Smart Manufacturing Systems including robotics, automation, augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR), and Industry 4.0/5.0 technologies
  • Ability and commitment to effectively develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses
  • Ability to advise and mentor Ph.D., masters, and undergraduate students in research
  • Record of disseminating scholarly research in refereed (peer-reviewed) publications
  • Demonstrated evidence of experience or potential to establish an independent externally sponsored research program
  • Excellent communication skills
