The Department of Psychology at Rowan University invites applications for a 10-month, tenure-track faculty position (open rank) with an appointment to begin September 1, 2026. Outstanding candidates with a strong research program in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), especially those integrating neurodiversity-affirming care in their research and practice, are preferred. However, candidates with research in any area of behavior analysis will be considered. Those with expertise or interest in integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies in ABA are encouraged to apply, as Rowan University actively supports innovation at the intersection of behavioral science and technology. The successful candidate will teach courses in behavior analysis and play an active role in the department's ongoing efforts toward pursuing ABAI accreditation. A Ph.D. or equivalent in psychology, behavior analysis, or a closely related field is required, and doctoral-level Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA-D) certification or eligibility is expected. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong record of scholarly productivity, success, or promise in securing external funding, and a commitment to high-quality teaching and clinical training. We anticipate hiring at the Assistant Professor level, but outstanding candidates may be considered at the Associate or Full Professor levels. The successful candidate is expected to develop and maintain an active, highly visible, extramurally funded research program with outstanding scholarship, teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and contribute to the various service endeavors in the Department, College, and University. Opportunities for collaboration exist within the Psychology Department, the College of Science & Mathematics, and with Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine, Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine, the Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering, and other colleges at the university. The Department of Psychology is one of nine departments in the College of Science & Mathematics, which supports a broad portfolio of interdisciplinary research across the behavioral, biological, computational, health, and environmental sciences. The department is home to over 1500 undergraduate psychology majors and approximately 100 graduate students across the Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, M.A. in Applied Behavior Analysis, M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and M.A. in School Psychology degree programs. The department offers multiple degree and certificate pathways in behavior analysis, including an undergraduate concentration, post-baccalaureate certificate, master's degree, advanced graduate certificate, and an Accelerated Dual Degree (4+1) program leading to a bachelor's degree in Psychology or Psychological Science and the master's degree in ABA. ABA faculty conduct research on health behavior, technology-based interventions, the assessment and treatment of severe behavior, naturalistic and verbal behavior interventions for young children, and family and caregiver supports. Related departmental strengths include expertise in autism diagnostic assessment and mental health of autistic adults, integrated behavioral healthcare, and human-computer interaction.
