About The Position

The Department of Physical Sciences of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach Campus, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the field of space science and/or aerospace materials to begin in Fall 2026. The successful candidate should hold a Ph.D. in Physics, Engineering, or a closely related discipline. Preference will be given to candidates with strong record in building instrumentation for space physics research or demonstrated experience in space-based material science (e.g., nano -or quantum materials, radiation shielding) with application to space technologies. The department has a strong history of excellence in the fields of space and atmospheric physics, space engineering applications, instrumentation, and controls. This position will be filled by an individual with preference for experimental expertise and will complement our current research efforts. Candidates with a strong commitment to both research and teaching excellence are encouraged to apply. Nice To Haves

  • Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated research deliverables in i) spacecraft and/or space science related instrumentation, or ii) physics of space related material science, e.g., nano/quantum materials/or radiation shielding, and similar areas with applications to space science and space technology.
