About The Position

Assistant Professor of Aviation Physics - Tenure Track - Fall 2026 The University of Maine at Augusta invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, Assistant Professor of Aviation Physics, beginning fall 2026. The successful candidate will have experience teaching a wide range of physics courses including Aviation Physics and Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) Physics and will have a strong commitment to teaching at the undergraduate level. Duties of the position may include teaching physics classes affiliated with UMAs Prison Education Partnership (PEP), and may also include supporting the university's early college programming.

Requirements

• Doctorate in physics, AMT Physics or related field
• A strong background in physics education and pedagogy
• Experience teaching and/or tutoring physics, including work as a teaching assistant
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Experience teaching using new technologies and delivery systems
• Experience teaching physics at the college level
